DR. YONG WANG
is Professor at School of International Studies, and the Director of the Center for International Political Economy, Peking University, and currently a Visiting Chevelier Chair Professor at Institute of Asian Research(IAR), University of British Columbia(UBC), beginning in September 2015. Professor of PRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs Party School and Former Consultant of Asian Development Bank. Member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Agenda Council on Global Trade and FDI, Board of Directors at Center for Regional Security Studies at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences，and Senior Fellow with Renmin University Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies(RDCY), and Member of Think20 (a Network of G20 Thinktanks). He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Global Asia, the Journal of Global Governance and the Journal of Human Security.
Professor Wang Yong’s research interests include Chinese political economy, China’s foreign relations, China-US relations, international political economy and global governance. His major authored or edited books include International Political Economy in China: A Global Conversation(co-edited with Greg Chin and Margaret Pearson, Routledge, 2015) , the Political Economy of International Trade (China Market Press, 2008); the Political Economy of China-U.S. Trade Relations (China Market Press, 2007), the Rounds of Most Favored Nations: the Politics of US-China Trade Relations, 1989-1997(Central Translation Press, 1998), Knowledge Economy: Operation and Cases(China City Press, 1998), American Politics and Making of Foreign Policy(co-authored, Peking University Press, 2007) and The European Union’s Engagement with Transnational Policy Networks(co-edited with Stephen Kingah and Vivien Schmidt, Taylor and Francis Group, 2015), US Political Economy under Obama Era(China Remin University Press, 2015). Ling Zhang Business Development CrossPacific Capital
LING ZHANG is responsible for Business Development at Crosspacific Capital. Mr. Zhang works closely with the team to evaluate investment opportunities, source new deals and provide value to existing portfolio companies. He is based in Vancouver, Canada.
Before joining Crosspacific Capital, Mr. Zhang was an Analyst at State Resources Investment Corporation, and its affiliated company Canada Capital Energy Corporation. There he supported feasibility studies and business development for a number of multi-billion energy projects, and coordinated communications between US/Canadian/Chinese investors regarding project planning, financing and exit. He also identified healthcare investment opportunities in US/Canada for shareholders from China.
From 2005 to 2013, Mr. Zhang studied and conducted research in the field of neuroscience at Peking University, Tsinghua University and University of British Columbia. PAUL IRWIN Paul leads the East Asia branch within the BC Ministry of International Trade.
